Senior Home in Baddegama - Sri Lanka

The Lotus Flower

symbolizes purity and divine birth.

The foundation’s board consists of 6 unpaid volunteers. Each month they consult about the State of affairs and often communicate weekly with the management team in Baddegama. The running of the senior home is performed on a day to day basis and any problems are quickly resolved. The financial aspect is monitored in Valkenburg by the Board itself. Salaries and any necessary expenses for the senior home are paid from out The Netherlands (Limburg). In Baddegama and here in South Limburg we are constantly organising and fundraising. In Baddegama we are constantly working on improving the quality of housing and care. Also all maintenance work on buildings, equipment, and inventory requires attention. When any board member is visiting they will attend to these maintenance needs (sometimes at their own expense) usually they are accompanied by guests who are interested in the project and want to help. This helps create a close bond between residents, employees and people from The Netherlands. The guest are very well received and always impressed by the work and commitment of those involved. Due to extremely low overheads we can guarantee that every Euro donated almost 100% is spent in Sri Lanka!
